Practical Engineering Solutions

Medina Structural Design provides structural engineering and permitting support services for residential and small commercial projects throughout Florida, New York, North Carolina, and Puerto Rico. The firm is committed to responsive communication, technically sound designs, and engineering solutions that are practical and constructible.

Structural engineering experience includes the design and evaluation of structural framing systems, foundations, retaining structures, structural repairs, and rehabilitation projects. Work has included structural analysis and design performed in accordance with ACI 318, ASCE 7, AISC, and applicable State building code requirements.

In addition to structural engineering, the firm provides supporting civil engineering analyses commonly required during permitting and development processes, including driveway access evaluations, roadway-related coordination, grading considerations, and site drainage calculations.

Abraham Medina Vega is a licensed Professional Engineer holding a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Cum Laude) and a Master of Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering. He brings more than 25 years of combined experience across public and private sector projects.

His background spans residential, commercial, transportation, military, and infrastructure work — including structural design, roadway and drainage engineering, construction management, permitting support, and post-disaster structural assessments.

Mr. Medina has worked on projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Puerto Rico Highway and Transportation Authority (PRHTA), the Puerto Rico Air National Guard, and numerous private engineering and construction firms. His multidisciplinary background supports more coordinated and practical project solutions during design and permitting phases.

His experience includes structural analysis using reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and wood systems, as well as participation in multidisciplinary engineering projects in BIM and CAD environments.
